In the Dashboard, the Users tab shows everyone who has registered on the app or been manually added. From here, you can add new users, view contact details and activity, update users in bulk, mark users inactive, and download a CSV to import into your CRM.
STEP-BY-STEP Add a user
Manually create a new user in the dashboard and send them a welcome email so they can log into the app.
- Log in to the Agent Dashboard.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, locate and click on Users.
- Look for the option New user and select it.
- Fill in the requested information for the new user.
- 💎 Pro tip — set a password for them. As a red-carpet touch, set the password yourself when you create the account instead of leaving it blank. When you hand off their login, you can tell them exactly how to get in without making them hunt through their inbox or reset anything — a small detail that makes the first impression feel concierge-level.
- Choose how to send the invite. You have three options:
- Email — sends the welcome message to the email on file.
- SMS — texts the invite to the user's phone number (great for users who live in their messages app).
- Both — sends to both channels so the user gets it wherever they're looking.
-
Click Create user & send invite to finalize the user creation process.
- The invite will be sent through the channel(s) you selected, containing the relevant info for the new user.
QUICK LOOKUP View user contact details
See the basic profile and engagement data for any registered user without leaving the Users list.
- Click Users on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Find the user you wish to retrieve details for.
-
Each row shows the following information:
- Name
- Phone
- Date joined
- Number of logins & last time logged in
DEEP DIVE View users' app activity & details
Open a user's full profile to see their saved searches, favorites, tags, notes, and recent activity in the app.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, locate and click on Users.
-
Find the specific user you want to view and click View to the right of their information.
- Upon clicking View, you will be able to access the following sections:
|
Profile & assignment
|
Activity & engagement
|
BULK ACTIONS Mass update users
Reassign agents, add tags, or remove tags across many users at once instead of editing them one by one.
- Log in to dashboard.homestack.com.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, click on Users.
-
Choose from two selection options:
- Select all: Click the checkbox next to the Name column header to select all users on the current page.
- Select specific users: Click the checkboxes next to individual user names. You can also use filters to refine your selection based on assigned agent, tags, join date, etc.
- After selecting users, click Update selected users.
-
You can now:
- Reassign selected users to a new agent (super admins only)
- Add new tags
- Remove existing tags
- To apply your changes, click Update users at the bottom. The system will update the selected users accordingly.
REMOVE ACCESS Make inactive
Deactivate a user when they should no longer be able to log in or appear in your dashboard and Insights.
- Log in at dashboard.homestack.com.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, locate and click on Users.
- Open the user's profile and scroll down until you see Make Inactive on the lower right side.
-
Click the red Make user inactive button.
- ⚠ Heads up. Making a user inactive will prevent them from logging into the app and remove them from the dashboard and Insights. They will not be deleted, but they will no longer appear in your standard views.
CSV TOOLS Import & export users via CSV
Move user lists in and out of HomeStack in bulk. Two buttons at the top of the Users page handle both directions — Download CSV exports your current list, and Upload CSV imports a new one.
Export — download your user list as a CSV
Pull your full user list out of HomeStack to import into your CRM or analyze in a spreadsheet.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, click Users.
- Click the Download CSV button at the top of the page.
- Navigate to the location where the file was downloaded.
- Click on the file to open and view its contents.
Columns included in the exported CSV
| Name | Full name on the user's profile |
| Email used to register | |
| Phone | Phone number if provided |
| Created | Date the user registered |
| Last login | Most recent login timestamp |
| Login count | Total number of times the user has logged in |
| Agent name | Agent the user is assigned to |
Import — upload users via CSV
Bringing over a list from your CRM or another platform? Upload users in bulk using a CSV instead of adding them one at a time.
- On the left-hand side of the screen, click Users.
-
Click the Upload CSV button at the top of the page. An Import users CSV dialog will open.
- Download the template. You have two options inside the dialog:
- Download the CSV template — opens the file in your spreadsheet app.
- Google Sheet template — opens an editable copy in Google Sheets.
- ⚠ Follow the template exactly. The column headers and order matter — if anything is renamed, removed, or rearranged, the import will fail. Fill in your data row by row without changing the structure.
- 💎 Safari users — heads up. If you're on Safari, clicking the template link may open the file in a new tab instead of downloading it. Right-click the link and choose Download Linked File (or similar) to save it to your computer.
- Fill in the template with your user data, then save it as a
.csvfile. - Back in the dialog, click Choose File, select your completed CSV, and then click Upload CSV file.
- The users will be created in bulk and appear in your Users list once the import finishes.
Not every option in this article is available to every account. HomeStack uses role-based access, so what you see in the dashboard depends on the permissions assigned to your role:
- Super admins have full access, including the ability to reassign users to a different agent (individually or in bulk), promote users to agents, and manage account-level settings.
- Agents can view, contact, and manage the users assigned to them, but reassignment and certain account-wide actions are gated.
If a button, toggle, or section described in this article isn't visible in your dashboard, it's likely a permissions issue — reach out to a super admin on your team to make the change or request access.
